Dr. Nima Nazari's Bio

Dr. Nima Nazari holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics from King’s College London, three MAs in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (LTHE) and International Relations (IR), a first-class BA in TEFL, a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) and a Certificate in Management from the UK Chartered Management Institute.

He is also a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and a member of the British Association for Applied Linguistics (BAAL). He has worked as Principal Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Lecturer at London Metropolitan University, the University of Sunderland, and the University of Hertfordshire in the UK. He has taught Applied Linguistics and TESOL courses in Higher Education for over 20 years. He has supervised over 100 MA dissertations and 5 PhD theses in Applied Linguistics and TESOL to successful completion and has examined 13 PhD candidates at universities in the UK such as Newcastle University, Middlesex University, Nottingham Trent University, and the University of Sunderland. He has developed and validated a considerable number of face-to-face and distance learning Master’s programs and modules and has acted as External Examiner for academic programs and the validation of various courses at universities in the UK such as the University of East London, Sheffield Hallam University, the University of Wolverhampton and the University of Sunderland.   

Dr. Nazari has been a member of the Editorial panel for English Language Teaching Journal (ELT Journal) and the Journal of Education and Practice as well as a peer reviewer for the Language and Language Teaching Journal. His research publications and presentations lie in the processes of second/foreign language learning and teaching and ESL/EFL in Higher Education.
