Novel Literature Between Two Worlds - Webinar

Novel writing is a literary art that invites readers to contemplate while translation is another type of writing practice that transports them to the writer’s literary traditions.

In our session, we will review two novels; one from the East (India) and the other from the West (the United States); to see how each art reflects its cultural environment and its writer’s creativity although both revolve around the same theme, namely the world of women.

Moderator: Muhammad Ali Bahri, Arabic Language Coordinator, Translation and Interpreting Institute, CHSS, HBKU

Speaker: Samar Al-Shishakli, writer and translator

The event will be held in Arabic.
