Spanish Courses for Kids and Teenagers in Spring 2019

Spanish Courses for Kids and Teenagers in Spring 2019

Why should children learn Spanish?
  • Spanish is spoken by more than 500 million people in the world. It is the official language of 20 countries like Spain, Argentina, Cuba, Mexico, Perú, Panamá, Uruguay, Ecuador or Venezuela for example! It is also spoken in many other countries in which it is not the official language, including the United States of America and the Philippines. It is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world; therefore, it can be argued that learners of Spanish can communicate with people from all over the world.
  • Speaking Spanish provides students that competitive edge they will need for future college admission and job placement in our emerging global economy.
  • Children have a natural ability to easily learn a foreign language.
  • Research shows that children who learn a second language have a higher rate of success in their education and their subsequent adult careers.
Why should my child learn Spanish at the TII?
  • Qatar Foundation. The TII is the first institution in Qatar to offer a strong program of languages to prepare children to be fluent in a foreign language since an early age. Within the heart of Qatar Foundation, our curriculum will enhance your child’s ability to communicate in Spanish from day one. Bring your child to the heart of the education in Qatar and enjoy Education City state of the art facilities.
  • Highly qualified native teachers from Spain and Latin America hold advanced degrees in Spanish (Masters or Ph.D.) and are experienced professionals in child education. The Spanish curriculum follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and is developed for each age group according to the specificity of cognitive development for that age.
  • Methodology. Our curriculum offers rigorous academic objectives through a Spanish immersive approach. Classes are content and project based and are conducted under a learning-by-doing methodology. Sessions are structured around a task, where students prepare and perform and thus become more involved and engaged with Spanish language, developing an understanding and appreciation of it. They learn and practice Spanish through well-structured lessons and diverse activities such as songs, games, crafts, music, drama and art. All activities, vocabulary and dialogues are age-specific. Communication is crucial to our learning approach: from day one students are encouraged to use the language actively and to interact with others.
  • Culture. The Spanish language program for children of the TII will help your child learn Spanish in rich and varied language program complemented with the extensive TII’s library and fun cultural activities. We offer a full immersion language and cultural program that reaches beyond the classroom, so children are exposed to Spanish language within the Doha community.
