Early Summer Term Prior to Your Holidays!

We would like to invite your children to be part of our EARLY SUMMER TERM which will be before they leave for their summer holidays.

You mustn't miss this opportunity to increase the Spanish level of your children, improving their fluidity and consolidating their vocabulary, in such a way as to enhance their linguistic competences and to be able to solidify themselves in the Spanish language before they leave for their summer holidays and before their return to our regular courses in Fall term.

Let's not forget that Spanish is the second most important language spoken over the world. By mastering Spanish you can cover 21 countries and communicate in a comfortable manner with their people.  Also, something not to forget is that Spanish is the unofficial language of football and when the world football fans descend upon Qatar in 2022 your children will be ready to be part of the World Cup. Therefore, to learn Spanish will frame them in an international context in the world, making your children part of its cultural diversity and focus of one of the most important tourist destinations: Spain! 

Our Spanish language program for children is full of fun. They learn and practice Spanish through well-structured lessons and diverse activities such as songs, games, crafts, music, drama and art. All activities, vocabulary and dialogues are designed in accordance to the Spanish curriculum which follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and is developed for each age group according to the specificity of cognitive development for that age.

Our courses are taught by highly qualified native speaker-teachers from Spain and Latin America who hold advanced degrees in Spanish with broad experience in child education. 

In light of the above, your children will achieve to communicate in a real context of conversation, introducing presentations, spatial orientation, directions, likes and dislikes, among others.

Beginner 1.2

The “Beginner 1.2 level” for children is a course that reviews and continues the materials children already covered during the level Beginner 1 of Spanish and go further. In this course, children will acquire basic vocabulary to talk about leisure activities, clothes and body parts and they will be able to describe their house and how to locate things in space. At the end of the course, children will be able to answer simple questions about themselves and have basic interactions. The class is conducted in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere appropriate for their age. They practice the listening and speaking skills using various activities and games and relevant materials in order to start understanding the language in its cultural context and engage in short interactions. 

Classes for this level are distributed according to the different age groups (age 7 and 9 and age 10 to 12 years old). The content of the course is the same for all of them, however classes will be adapted according to children’s age and cognitive development students in order to accomplish more.

Pre requisites: Spanish Beginner 1.1 or placement test. If not sure about your children level, please arrange a meeting with the language coordinator.

The “Beginner 1.3 level” for children is a course that reviews and continues the materials children already covered during the level Beginner 1 of Spanish and go further. In this course, children will acquire basic vocabulary to talk about leisure activities, clothes and body parts and they will be able to describe their house and how to locate things in space. At the end of the course, children will be able to answer simple questions about themselves and have basic interactions. The class is conducted in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere appropriate for their age. Beginner 2.2

The “Beginner 2.2  level” for children is a course that reviews and continues the materials children already covered during the level Beginner 1 of Spanish and go further. In this course, children will acquire basic vocabulary to talk about leisure activities, they will review sentences in present tense and some uses of past tense sentences.  At the end of the course, children will be able make questions and to answer simple questions about themselves and have basic interactions. The class is conducted in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere appropriate for their age. They practice the listening and speaking skills using various activities and games and relevant materials in order to start understanding the language in its cultural context and engage in short interactions. 

Classes for this level are distributed according to age 10 to 12 years old. The content of the will be adapted according to children’s age and cognitive development students in order to accomplish more.

Beginner 2.3 

The “Beginner 2.3  level” for children is a course that reviews and continues the materials children already covered during the level Beginner 1 and Beginner 2 of Spanish and go further. In this course, children will talk about their personal information, they will include new vocabulary regarding how to travel in a safe manner and they will practice under a communicative approach the acquired themes of the previous levels, in order to be able to put together full sentences in a fluent way. At the end of the course, children will be able to ask questions and answersimple questions about themselves and have basic interactions.The class is conducted in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere appropriate for their age. They practice the listening and speaking skills using various activities and games and relevant materials in order to start understanding the language in its cultural context and engage in short interactions.

Schedule for Teenagers

Welcome to our brand new Spanish program for teenagers and middle-high school students, addressed to students aged between 13 and 15 years old. We want to prepare the coming generations of teenagers in Qatar, for a future full of opportunities speaking Spanish. Once a week, on Saturdays, the TII will offer Spanish for:

  • Teens that want to learn Spanish from scratch and be ready for the future!
  • Teens that are already studying Spanish at school and want to reinforce their knowledge.
  • Teens that might want to be well prepared to tackle the GCES or BAC exams.

The TII offers Spanish lessons for teenagers, following rigorous academic objectives through a Spanish immersive approach. Classes are content and project based and are conducted under a learning-by-doing methodology. Sessions are structured around a task, where students prepare and perform and thus become more involved and engaged with Spanish Language, developing an understanding and appreciation of it. Communication is crucial to our learning approach: from day one students are encouraged to use the language actively and to interact with others.

This course is designed to provide you with the linguistic competence to understand and use common daily expressions used in any part of the Spanish-speaking world, concerning immediate needs. You and your classmates talk about your daily routine, leisure activities. The course is conducted in Spanish as much as possible.

Prerequisites:This class is best suited for students who have completed Beginner 1.1 or similar level of Spanish. If not sure about your children level, please arrange a meeting with the language coordinator.
Textbook:Gente Joven 1, Nueva Edición, Editorial Difusión. Authors, Encina Alonso, Neus Sans. Assorted handouts will be distributed in class.

Section 2: Beginner 1.3, Saturdays 09:00 AM – 11:00 AM

This course is designed to provide you with the linguistic competence to understand and use common daily expressions used in any part of the Spanish-speaking world, concerning immediate needs. You and your classmates talk about your town, how to give directions and how to use past tense. The course is conducted in Spanish as much as possible.

Prerequisites:This class is best suited for students who have completed Beginner 1.2 level of the TII or similar level of Spanish. If not sure about your children level, please arrange a meeting with the language coordinator.
Textbook: Gente Joven 1, Nueva Edición, Editorial Difusión. Authors, Encina Alonso, Neus Sans. Assorted handouts will be distributed in class.

Section 3: Beginner 2.2, Saturdays 11:05 AM – 1:05 PM

This Beginner Spanish 2.2 course continues the Beginner series and builds upon Beginner Spanish. It is designed for students who have completed the 2.1 level or for those who have had previous experience with the language. In this class children will learn how to make simplified conversations regarding their location and safety, position in time and space, shopping, how to use money for purchases in shops, bakery, in malls, or a visit to the countryside. They also will learn to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and new phrases structures in various real life situations. New grammar patterns are learned in the context of a conversation or a real-life situation. The class is conducted in a funny and friendly atmosphere appropriate for their age.

Prerequisites: This class is best suited for students who have completed Beginner 2.1 level of the TII or similar level of Spanish. If not sure about your children level, please arrange a meeting with the language coordinator.
